CEDAR CITY, Utah - After splitting their tour of the Big Sky Conference 1-1, the 3-1 Southern Utah women's basketball team will return to Cedar City, Utah, to face the 2-1 Benedictine University Mesa Redhawks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
Head Coach Tracy Mason said
"Our team fought hard last week on the road, and I'm proud of the way they played in both games. On Tuesday, we'll look to clean up a couple of things at home against Benedictine Mesa."

Matchup History
- In 2022, SUU earned a clear-cut 102-60 win in its lone matchup with the Redhawks. Ashley Banks totalled a career-high 19 points in the game, adding nine rebounds to the impressive night.
The Thunderbirds
After a thrilling 3-0 streak to tip off the season, the Thunderbirds dropped a back-and-forth matchup to the University of Idaho Vandals. Even though the game ended in a 76-72 loss, junior Ava Uhrich secured a monster double-double with 17 rebounds and 14 points.
With a potent scoring offense, SUU averages 81.5 points per game and holds opponents to 65.8. They boast strong three-point accuracy, draining 39% of their shots from the perimeter, but have found their greatest strength to be cleaning up the glass.
Southern Utah brings down a hefty 49.5 boards per contest, holding an outstanding 15.3 margin when it comes to outrebounding their foes. On the offensive end of the court, the Thunderbirds average an incredible 17.8 rebounds per game.
Sophomore Sierra Chambers leads the Thunderbirds in scoring after racking up a career-high 19 points against the Vandals. She averages 17 points per game and has filled the point guard role efficiently with a solid 4.3 assists per game.
Junior Brooklyn Fely and sophomore Kortney Doman have both played a huge factor in the paint, averaging 10.3 and 10.8 rebounds, respectively, while repeatedly scoring in the double digits.

University Benedictine Mesa Redhawks
The Redhawks stand at 2-1 and will sneak in a game against Utah Valley University on Monday, Nov. 17, before they face Southern Utah.
Like the Thunderbirds, Benedictine Mesa posts an efficient offense, averaging 79.5 points per game. The Redhawks force opponent turnovers at an extreme rate, averaging 30 per game.
Five Redhawks average 10 or more points, with junior Olivia Arvallo leading the team at 16 per game. Playing well on defense, three of Benedictine Mesa's players average three steals per game.
