Game Recap
First Half
The Thunderbirds and Redhawks tipped off to a competitive start, but Southern Utah's outstanding shooting soon made for a lopsided game. During an 18-0 Southern Utah run as the 25-12 first quarter drew to a close, Southern Utah played all 13 active athletes on their roster.
SUU continued their scorching offense in the second quarter, with freshman Devyn Kiernan and sophomore Kortney Doman notching threes to widen an extensive lead. In the second quarter, the Thunderbirds missed only two of their 15 shots from the field.
Second Half
After a flat opening to the second half, a triple from sophomore Bella Hasan spurred back-to-back scores from junior Brooklyn Fely. Senior Ashley Banks added two baskets to lead SUU to a 75-50 score through three quarters.
Finding their groove defensively, the Thunderbirds held the Redhawks to only two points in the first five minutes. A triple from junior Morgan Trigueiro closed up a clear 91-68 win for SUU.
