CEDAR CITY, UTAH -- The SUU Men's Basketball team wrapped up an extremely tough non-conference journey with a 4-9 record and is sitting in seventh place in the Western Athletic Conference standings. The Thunderbirds will begin their final WAC season in St. George, Utah, against the sixth-place Utah Tech Trailblazers.
Head Coach Rob Jeter said
"Everybody is 0-0 now. We had the hardest non-conference of anybody in the league which means we are more prepared than anybody else to handle some adversity."

Matchup History
- SUU holds a 7-4 record against Utah Tech. The Thunderbirds swept the Trailblazers a season ago, winning both regular-season contests, but when they played in the WAC postseason tournament, the Trailblazers came out on top.
The Thunderbirds
SUU is averaging 77.7 points per game, which is good enough for fourth in the WAC, but they are allowing teams to score 81 per contest. The Thunderbirds shoot 46% from the field and 31% from deep and are second in the conference at 73% from the free-throw line.
True freshman point guard Elijah Duval is eighth in the conference in scoring at 13.3, and Jaiden Feroah checks in just behind him at 12.2. Feroah and Isaiah Cottrell have been dominant on the glass for Southern Utah, with both players currently in the top-10 in rebounds per game.Â
Duval is also fifth in field goal percentage (47%) and fifth in assists per game (3.67).
Tanner Hayhurst has 24 made three-pointers to lead the Thunderbirds on 49%.
The Trailblazers
Utah Tech averages 78 points per game and holds its opponents to 73. They average just 35 rebounds and 13 assists per game.
Ethan Potter, a transfer from Utah Valley, leads the Trailblazers in scoring (17) and rebounding (7.2) per game. He also shoots it at 58% from the floor, but is 0-9 from three on the year.
UT has six players with at least 20 assists on the year, with Jusuan Holt leading the way with 35.
Noah Bolanga leads the Trailblazers with 24 made three-pointers, but is making just 26% of his attempts.
