CEDAR CITY, Utah - After a phenomenal comeback win over NM State, the 7-1 Southern Utah women's basketball team will hit the road for a 1:00 p.m. battle with the 7-2 Colorado State Rams in Fort Collins, Colo.
Head Coach Tracy Mason said:
"We've got a tough road trip ahead of us, starting with Colorado State. The Rams have been shooting very well this season, so we'll have to play consistent defense if we want to slow them down and earn an important win this weekend."

Buoyed by a dominant 24-point second half from sophomore Sierra Chambers, the Thunderbirds overcame a 12-point deficit to defeat the NM State Aggies 69-59 on Thursday, Dec. 4. The win boosted Southern Utah to a 7-1 record, which marks their best start in over a decade.
Southern Utah's potent offense averages 85.3 points per game, while its defense allows 63.9 points per game. The Thunderbirds have been shooting very accurately, sinking 45.1% of their shots from the field.
However, some of their most impressive shooting has come at the free-throw line. The Thunderbirds currently stand at seventh in the nation for made free throws with 19.3 per game. In addition to leading the team in scoring with 16.4 points per game, Chambers is on an impressive streak of 31-straight made free throws.
Southern Utah has also emerged as one of the top rebounding teams in the country, ranking 11th with 46.6 rebounds per game. Junior Ava Uhrich heads up this impressive effort at the glass, averaging 9.4 boards. She has also recorded three double-doubles in her last five games.
As the Thunderbirds look to slow down a strong Colorado State offense, sophomore Kortney Doman will also play a factor. Leading the team in both blocks and steals, Doman's defensive presence is unshakable on the court.

Colorado State Rams
The Rams will aim to get back on track against SUU, having lost their last two games after winning their first seven. Holding opponents to a meager 54.3 points per game and scoring an average of 70.8 of their own, Colorado State may be the toughest matchup of Southern Utah's season thus far.
Mirroring the Thunderbirds' 45.1% rate from the field, the Rams have also shot with great accuracy. They've controlled the ball well, averaging less than 10 turnovers per game.
Senior Lexus Bargesser has captained the Colorado State scoring attack with 16 points per game. Distributing the ball, sophomore Brooke Carlson posts 3.6 assists per game.
