CEDAR CITY, Utah — Southern Utah Softball is making headlines once again—this time for success off the diamond. Arianna Ramirez, Amyah Boostedt, and Taralyn Ollison have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, recognizing their exceptional performances in the classroom and on the field.

Sophomore slugger Arianna Ramirez didn't just make the list; she's one of a select few nationwide named a finalist for CSC Academic All-America honors, one of the highest academic distinctions in college athletics.

To earn Academic All-District recognition, student-athletes must hold at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and be at least a sophomore both athletically and academically.

Coach Don Don Williams Said

"I'm incredibly proud of Arianna, Amyah and Taralynn - not just for their performances on the field but for their discipline and dedication in the classroom. These honors reflect the type of people they are: driven, resilient and committed to growth in all that they do. They embody what it truly means to be an SUU student-athlete."

Ramirez: The Complete Package

Ramirez turned in one of the most dominant offensive seasons in the WAC this year. She led the Thunderbirds in nearly every major offensive category—batting .380, blasting nine home runs, and driving in 38 RBIs. She posted a staggering 1.100 OPS, struck out just seven times in 142 at-bats, and was named First Team All-WAC.

She also showed a flair for the dramatic, tying the team high with four hits in a single game and torching UTA on April 26 with six RBIs and two bombs. With a .438 on-base percentage, Ramirez was a nightmare for opposing pitchers and a consistent spark for the Thunderbirds all season long.

Boostedt: Veteran Leadership

In her senior season, Amyah Boostedt proved to be a rock in the lineup. She hit .305 with a solid .831 OPS, collecting 21 RBIs, nine doubles, and three home runs. Known for her disciplined eye at the plate, she also walked 16 times, one of the top marks on the team. Her gap power and leadership helped set the tone for SUU throughout the entire season.

Ollison: Quietly Clutch

Taralyn Ollison stepped up in her sophomore campaign, starting in 37 games and hitting .308 with 28 hits and nine RBIs. She added four sacrifice hits and posted a .323 OBP, delivering timely offense throughout the year. Her versatility and reliability were key as SUU made its push through the conference slate.

With all three players balancing academic excellence and top-tier performance on the field, the Thunderbirds continue to set the standard for what it means to be a student-athlete.

The 2025 CSC Academic All-America teams will be announced in the coming weeks, with Ramirez in the running for national honors.
