CEDAR CITY, UTAH -- Bella Hasan, a member of Southern Utah University's Women's Basketball program, has earned a spot on the 2025 Indonesian National Team roster and will be competing in the FIBA Women's Asia Cup from July 13-20.
Head Coach Tracy Mason said
"This is such an exciting accomplishment for Bella to be playing for her National team in such a prestigious tournament. Southern Utah will be cheering for her and following her journey in China."

The Indonesian National Team is coming off a very successful 2023 in which they finally broke through after ruling the B Division in Sydney, sweeping all five of their contests. The Timnas punched their ticket to Division A and will look to keep their place this year at the Women's Asia Cup.
The team has been drawn into Group A of the 2025 Women's Asia Cup, which will take place in China from July 13 to 20. The pool features host nation China, as well as New Zealand and Korea.

"It definitely means a lot to play for my country since not everyone gets the chance to," said sophomore guard Bella Hasan. "When your family and country are supporting and cheering you on, it is really special. Indonesia has recently risen in the ranks throughout Asia, so playing with the flag on my chest comes with high expectations, being the underdog team. And I think not only am I representing Indonesia, but as the only American player on this team from a small college, I get to represent SUU as well."
Hasan played in eight games for the Thunderbirds last season, making the most of her opportunities. She scored a collegiate career-high against Park (AZ), scoring seven points on a perfect 3-3 from the field.
"This opportunity is such a blessing. I will have the opportunity to compete with professional basketball players and learn from them. The growth I have already experienced in just a couple of weeks at training camp has been amazing," said Hasan. "I am looking forward to coming back to SUU and implementing the tools and skills that I am learning."
