CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah University men's and women's cross country teams will open their season in Orem, Utah at the Wolverine Cross Country Invitational on Friday, Aug. 29. MEET INFORMATION
Coach Eric Houle Said
"Our opener at UVU is always a great way to start the season, especially after two tough weeks of camp. This weekend's competition will give me some idea of who will make up this year's team."
UVU Invitational
The weekend race will pit Southern Utah against the rival Utah Valley University Wolverines in an early-season matchup. In the 2024 Western Athletic Conference Championships, the Thunderbird men pushed past UVU for a second place finish, while the UVU women earned the title of reigning WAC champions. The two Utah schools will likely be in competition throughout this season as well.
The three-mile race course will feature three loops at Scera Park. The women's race begins at 10:00 a.m. and the men's race starts at 10:45 a.m.
