Keys for the Thunderbirds

Southern Utah is heading into this weekend's tournament with determination despite a challenging start to the season. With a record of 0-6, the Thunderbirds are looking to build momentum and make a statement that will serve as a catalyst for the rest of the season. While the team has struggled, there have been bright spots. Southern Utah has logged 237 kills on the season, averaging 9.9 per set, and has shown solid defense with 277 digs. The Thunderbirds will look to improve their hitting efficiency, as their attack percentage sits at .118. Serving has been another area of focus, with the Thunderbirds averaging 1.2 aces per set, but they will look to cut down on their 54 service errors to improve their chances.

Texas Tech

The Red Raiders come into the weekend with impressive offensive and defensive performances. Texas Tech has 296 kills on the season, averaging 12.3per set, with a strong attack percentage of .220. Their offense is led by a balanced attack and a solid 278 assists, while they've shown proficiency at the service line with 42 aces and just 40 service errors. Defensively, the Red Raiders have logged 359 digs and 40 blocks, including eight solo blocks. Texas Tech's defense will challenge the Thunderbirds to sharpen their offensive execution and handle the Red Raiders' tough serving and defense.

UC San Diego

The Tritons' offense is led by Molly McCluskey, who has 92 kills on the season. Maija Nepszy leads the team in assists with 148 on the season. The Tritons average 11.8 per set, but struggle with hitting efficiency, posting a .145 attack percentage compared to their opponents' .243. Their defense is strong, having 12.3 digs per set and 37.5 total blocks. Errors have been an area of weakness, with 34 reception errors.

Northern Arizona

The Lumberjacks' offense is led by Hanah Stoddard, who has posted 98 kills on the season. Just behind her is Gigi Greenlee with 63 kills of her own. Ella Hosfeld has 125 assists, and Keira Hall has 104. The Lumberjacks have accumulated 285 kills, averaging 13 per set, and a strong attack percentage of .254.
