The Thunderbirds
On Thursday, Jan. 22, SUU snapped a three-game losing streak with a crucial win over Utah Valley University, jumping to 4-3 in the WAC and 12-7 overall. The win bumped them back into third place in the conference standings, only one game behind Abilene Christian.

Sophomore Kortney Doman has been an essential component of this defensive effort, leading the team in both steals (27) and blocks (19) and averaging 6.3 rebounds per game. On the offensive side of the ball, sophomore Sierra Chambers averages 15.5 points and 3.6 assists, and junior Ava Uhrich averages 13.2 points to go with 9.8 rebounds per game.
Scouting Report
Utah Tech Trailblazers
Off to a lackluster 1-6 start in conference play, the 6-11 Trailblazers will look to turn things around against a talented Southern Utah team. In their loss on Thursday, Utah Tech lost by only six to a WAC-topping California Baptist team.
Allowing 68 points per game while scoring only 63.7 of their own, the Trailblazers have struggled on both sides of the ball this year. Despite shooting only 28.9% from the perimeter, they average a solid 7.8 triples per game.
Even with the team's lack of success, individual Trailblazers have performed very well this season. Senior Kaylee Borden averages an outstanding 15.8 points, while senior Chardonnay Hartley boasts 4.7 assists per game.
