CEDAR CITY, Utah – Southern Utah once again delivered strong results at both the Battle Barn Classic and Mountain State Games. The Thunderbirds gained valuable experience as they prepare for the WAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Men's Track & Field
Southern Utah University's men's team turned in a strong showing, highlighted by multiple victories and a relay title. Ashton Miller ran the 200m in 21.40, which is seventh all-time. Jaedyn Carpenter led the way with a dominant performance, showcasing an impressive 200-meter time of 21.45 seconds and the 400 meters in 47.08 to cap off SUU's sprint group. Kadan Allen added another first-place finish by capturing the 800 meters in 1:53.71, edging a competitive field. The Thunderbirds finished the weekend by winning the 4×400 relay in 3:15.56, finishing off one of the more complete results of the indoor season for Southern Utah.
Women's Track & Field
The Southern Utah women produced several standout performances while competing against a deep regional field, highlighted by strong efforts in the hurdles and relays. Iana Graham recorded a time of 8.87 in the 60-meter hurdles, ranking seventh on SUU's all-time indoor list, while Sydney Gibson followed closely with an 8.88, which stands eighth all-time. The Thunderbirds also closed the meet on a high note as the 4×400 relay team posted a 3:56.

Men's Track & Field
Isley Gutierrez led the way with a first-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, winning in 8.05 seconds, while Tyler Myrup added a third-place showing in 8.23, which is tenth all-time. Freshman Kyler Helt turned in a personal-best 6.97 in the 60 meters to place 11th. In the middle distances, Tyler Saunders ran 1:53.80 in the 800 and added a 4:15.64 mile, while Ezra Nelson posted a personal-best 4:15.27 in the mile. In the field, Divin Kalanga highlighted SUU's efforts with a third-place finish in the long jump at 6.80 meters and an eighth-place mark in the high jump. The Thunderbirds also received solid performances in the throws, led by Mason Gooder, who placed ninth in the shot put with a personal-best 14.80 meters.
Women's Track & Field
The Southern Utah women were led by a strong weekend from freshman Aspen Hacker, who placed second in the 800 meters with a personal-best 2:15.59 and followed with a third-place finish in the mile in 5:00.07. In the field events, Timmia Rucks recorded multiple highlights, finishing sixth in the long jump at 5.45 meters and placing third in the triple jump with a personal-best 11.29 meters, while also running 7.93 in the 60 meters. Sophomore Chloe Bingham added a fifth-place showing in the high jump at 1.61 meters. The Thunderbirds' throwing group was paced by Brooke Lynch, who placed 11th in the weight throw with a mark of 15.83 meters. SUU closed the meet with a solid effort in the 4×400 relay, as the team of Taylor Jorgensen, Rachel Crosby, Isabella Evans, and Hacker finished in 4:10.80.
