CEDAR CITY. Utah — The Thunderbirds turned heads across both track and field events while hosting the SUU Coliseum Championships, which included multiple event wins against in-state foes.

Men's Recap and Results
Southern Utah turned in a strong showing across multiple events, highlighted by victories from Richard Crane in the 800 meters (1:52.18), Logan Peel in the 3,000 meters (8:27.67), and Bronis MacDougall in the javelin with a throw of 72.08 meters. The Thunderbirds also dominated the hurdles as Isley Gutierrez won the 110-meter hurdles in 13.96 seconds, while Tyler Myrup captured the 400-meter hurdles in 52.34 seconds. SUU added relay victories in both the 4x100-meter relay (40.68) and the 4x400-meter relay (3:17.09). Additional top finishes included Jackson Tarver, who placed second in the 200 meters (21.38) and second in the 400 meters (48.03), and Divin Kalanga, who finished second in the long jump (6.90m) and won the high jump with a clearance of 1.79 meters.
Women's Recap and Results
Southern Utah picked up several top performances on the women's side, led by Kimberly Winward, who won the 800 meters in 2:13.63. The Thunderbirds also earned runner-up finishes from Aspen Hacker in the mile (5:01.68) and Sabrina Wright in the 400 meters (56.87). In the hurdles, Sydney Gibson placed second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.64 and third in the 100-meter hurdles (14.32). SUU also saw strong field performances from Jaylee Gandert, who won the javelin with a throw of 50.57 meters, and Chloe Bingham, who finished third in the high jump (1.60m). The Thunderbirds' 4x400-meter relay team added a second-place finish in 3:55.28 to close the meet.
