BOISE, Idaho -- The Southern Utah soccer team battled a feisty Boise State squad as part of a 2-0 loss to the Pacific 12 foe in Idaho on Thursday evening to close out non-conference play at 3-5-1. Boise State moved to 7-1-1 with the victory.

Freshman goalie Tatum Trout kept busy during the initial stanza with seven saves, including an amazing point-blank effort early on in the half, while only allowing a pair of goals to the uber aggressive Boise State squad. The Broncos definitely led the way in the foul column during the first frame with 12 fouls to just two by Southern Utah.
Meanwhile, freshmen defender Ashlyn Woodbury and forward Gracen Blieschke each notched a shot during the initial 45 minutes of play. Blieschke charted the first shot of the match for SUU at the 22:31 mark, while Woodbury missed off target at 36:05 of the contest.
The second half featured much of the same with Trout and sophomore goalie Madison Ejgird completing a clean final 45 minutes of play. Senior Kayleigh Acree managed an off target shot at 54:54 of play before sophomore Halle Cowan notched a shot of her own with 82:03 on the clock.
Statistical Recap
Southern Utah accounted for four shots against Boise State's 26, including 11 on goal. Trout turned in nine saves.
The T-Birds fended off 18 fouls against just eight of their own, while earning a corner kick against Boise State's four.
Junior defender Rylan Tebbs earned the ironwoman award for the night as the sole player to compete in all 90 minutes of action.
