Cedar City, Utah - The Southern Utah University men's and women's cross-country teams will hit the track for the first time in their 2026 campaign. The Thunderbirds will travel up I-15 to Orem for the Utah Valley University Cross Country Invitational. The Thunderbirds look to start their tenure in the Big Sky Conference behind an experienced roster and new head coach Issac Wood. 

Head Coach Isaac Wood said,

"I'm really looking forward to competing for the first time. We've had a really strong few weeks of training, and I am eager to see how it looks in the competition setting. It will be a fun and light opener that will give us a good idea of where our team is at as we look ahead at the season."

UVU Invitational 

What: UVU Invitational

When: Race day is Friday, with the women starting at 10 a.m., and the men starting at 10:45 a.m.

Where: Scera Park in Orem, Utah

Who: The UVU Invitational is the Thunderbirds' first race back in the Big Sky since the 2021 season. The Wolverines will also be starting their season in a new conference as they join the Big West Conference.
