Kelsey Lindquist is a dedicated and accomplished individual who has made significant contributions to the world of volleyball both as a player and a coach. Born and raised in Britton Michigan, she discovered her passion for the sport early on and honed her skills throughout her high school years. Kelsey's exceptional talent and hard work earned her the title of a three-time All-State player for Tecumseh High School. She played a pivotal role in her team's success as they became the Runner Up State Champions during her senior year.
Following her impressive high school career, Kelsey took her talent to Valparaiso University, where she played as a setter from 2012 to 2015. Throughout her four years at Valpo, she played in every match, showcasing her reliability and determination on the court. Her exceptional performance earned her several accolades, including being named the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year during her freshman season, Horizon League All-Conference during her junior year, and Horizon League All-Tournament Team during her senior year. Additionally, Kelsey was recognized for her academic excellence as a member of the Horizon League All-Academic team.
Kelsey's impact on the Valparaiso University team extended beyond individual honors. Her leadership and skill as a setter helped lead the team to a record-breaking hitting percentage during her junior year, with the team achieving an impressive 0.250 hitting percentage. She also secured her place as the fourth in career assists, showcasing her ability to facilitate successful plays and elevate the performance of her teammates.
In 2016, Kelsey graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Driven by her passion for teaching, she spent five years at Tecumseh Middle School as a sixth-grade teacher, making a positive impact on her students' lives.
While pursuing her teaching career, Kelsey continued her involvement in the volleyball community by coaching club volleyball at Michigan Elite for five years. Her coaching prowess and commitment to player development were further highlighted during her tenure as the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Tecumseh High School from 2017 to 2020.
Currently, Kelsey serves as an Assistant Volleyball Coach for Southern Utah University, where she continues to inspire and guide young athletes on their volleyball journey. Her extensive experience as both a player and a coach has helped shape her coaching philosophy, emphasizing teamwork and skill development.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Kelsey shares her life with her husband, who serves as the Assistant Soccer Coach at Southern Utah University. Together, they form a dynamic and passionate coaching duo, committed to nurturing and empowering young athletes to reach their full potential.
