CEDAR CITY, Utah ? May 6 - Southern Utah track and field had been slated to compete in the Weber State Twilight meet, but a last-minute venue change means the Thunderbirds will now compete at the Utah Twilight on the campus of East High School in Salt Lake City on Wednesday night.

“We got word that the Weber meet had fell through and the meet at Utah filled the gap,” head coach Eric Houle said. “We'll be competing against Weber State, BYU, Utah and Utah State in what should be a very good meet.”

Southern Utah is coming off of hosting the SUU Invitational where the Thunderbirds captured 20 of 36 first-place finish on their home track. Among the results was a new school record by Greg Watson with an U.S. Olympic “B”-standard toss of 216 feet 6 inches in the men's hammer.

This meet will be the final warm-up for the Thunderbirds prior to the Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 15-17 in Macomb, Illinois. Southern Utah has already claimed a Summit League title during the cross country season on the men's and women's side, but finished fourth on both sides in the indoor track and field championships.
