CEDAR CITY, Utah - March 11 - Southern Utah senior Anne Westwood Higbee
has been named second-team all-Summit League after leading the
Thunderbirds in scoring and rebounding for a third consecutive year.
The award was the only postseason accolade that the T-Birds tallied
this season.
Higbee is the only player in Southern Utah basketball history, men or women, to lead the team in scoring and rebounding for three consecutive years. She finished her career with her name peppered throughout the SUU record book, ranking first in games played (116), fifth in points (1118), third in rebounding (765) and fourth all-time in career field goal percentage (49.5 percent).
This year, Higbee led the team with 13.9 ppg and 8.2 rebounds per game while recording nine double-doubles. The award marked the second time in Higbee's career that she had been honored with postseason kudos, earning second-team all-conference honors in 2006-07.
