THUNDERBIRDS HIT THE ROAD FOR TWO
Southern Utah University will hit the road for a pair of matches this weekend, heading to Orem, Utah to face University of Northern Colorado in a neutral site match played on the Utah Valley University campus on Friday. Following a day off, the Thunderbirds will then square off with Idaho State University in Pocatello, Ida. Sunday afternoon.

Next week, Southern Utah University will once again take to the road, this time traveling to Flagstaff, Ariz. to match up against Northern Arizona University Saturday, Sept. 18 before facing the Air Force Academy the following afternoon.
LAST TIME OUT
The Thunderbirds took last week off from competition. The week prior, Southern Utah posted an 8-0 victory over Embry-Riddle University Aug. 25 and closed out the week with a 2-0 win against William Penn University Aug. 28.
BASSETT, BOOTH AWARDED SUMMIT LEAGUE WEEKLY ACCOLADES
Riley Bassett and Charly Booth were named Summit League Offensive Player and Co-Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, on Aug. 30. Bassett earned her first career weekly accolade after producing a record-setting week for the Thunderbirds who beat Embry-Riddle and William Penn during the week. The junior midfielder scored a single-match school record four goals in the Aug. 25 8-0 victory over Embry-Riddle University, becoming the first Thunderbird to record a hat trick and also set the school's single-match record for points with eight. The Las Vegas, Nev. native closed out the week with another goal that proved to be the match-winner in the 2-0 win over William Penn University Aug. 28. Booth also earned her first career weekly honor after posting a pair of shutouts during the week. The redshirt-sophomore posted a career-high nine saves to post her first career shutout in the win over Embry-Riddle and later stopped the only shot-on-goal she faced in the victory over William Penn. This season, the Bountiful, Utah native owns a 235:05 consecutive scoreless minute streak.
ABOUT THE NORTHERN COLORADO BEARS
The University of Northern Colorado enters its neutral site matchup against Southern Utah University with a 4-2 overall record after sweeping a pair of matches last week. The Thunderbirds lead the all-time series with the Bears 1-0-1 after posting a 3-1 victory in Cedar City, Utah in 2008. Ariel Cook comes into the week pacing the team with four goals and nine total points while keeper Kirstin Salminen owns a 1.17 GAA and posted two shutouts in 2010. Head coach Tim Barrera is in his 11th season at the helm of the Bears.
ABOUT THE IDAHO STATE BENGALS
Idaho State University enters the week with a 2-2-1 overall record and will host Seattle University Thursday prior to facing Southern Utah University on Sunday. The Bengals lead the all-time series with the Thunderbirds 7-1 after taking last season's meeting 2-1 in Cedar City. ISU has a pair of players that pace the team with a goal and four points apiece while keeper Bailey Williams owns a 1.35 GAA and one shutout. Allison Gibson is in her fifth season as head coach of the Bengals.
BASSETT HIGHLIGHTS SUU's RECORD-SETTING MATCH
In Southern Utah University's 8-0 victory over Embry-Riddle University Aug. 25, the Thunderbirds set single-game school-records for goals (8) and total points (21), and also tied the single-game record with five assists. Junior midfielder Riley Bassett topped the individual record books by scoring a program-best four goals to give her eight total points which were also a single-game record. No other Thunderbird had ever recorded a hat trick, let alone four goals in a match prior to Bassett.
BOOTH POSTS SHUTOUTS, BUILDS SCORELESS STREAK
Redshirt sophomore keeper Charly Booth picked up her first career shutouts earlier this season, blanking Embry-Riddle University Aug. 25 and William Penn University Aug. 28. Booth made a career-high saves against Embry-Riddle before making just one stop in the win over William Penn. With the back-to-back shutouts and after holding Utah Valley University scoreless in the final 55 minutes of the season-opener, Booth now owns a 235:05 consecutive scoreless minute streak.
