FARGO, N.D. - Challis
Pascucci registered her fourth straight double-double for Southern Utah
University who lost a 74-54 decision to North Dakota State University Monday
evening.
Pascucci led the Thunderbirds (11-11, 5-6
Summit League) with 11 points and 11 rebounds while battling foul trouble.
Sophomore forward Tayler Anderson matched Pascucci with a season-high 11 points
and added eight rebounds for SUU who was held to 32 percent shooting by a tough
NDSU (10-11, 6-5 Summit League) team that had four players score in
double-figures.
Both teams traded baskets for the first six
minutes before the Bison used a 20-7 run to open up a double-digit lead midway
through the first half. The Thunderbirds
were whistled for 13 fouls while North Dakota State knocked down shots with
Pascucci on the bench much of the first half after being called for three early
fouls.
NDSU finished the first half with a 40-24
lead after shooting 50 percent through the first 20 minutes while Anderson had
already registered 11 points and grabbed seven boards.
The Bison kept their lead in double-digits
throughout the second half despite Southern Utah holding them to 37 percent
shooting.
The Thunderbirds had senior guard Caitlyn
Sears and freshman guard DJ Norman each notch eight points while senior point
guard Kaila Goff notched six points and gave out four assists.
SUU returns home for its next three contests,
beginning against UMKC in its annual Breast Cancer Awareness game set for a 5
p.m. start on Saturday.
