CEDAR CITY, Utah - Oct. 2 - Cross Country runner Nate Jewkes earned a Big Sky Athlete of the Week award after leading the Thunderbirds to a third-place finish at Oregon's Bill Dellinger Invitational last weekend.
Jewkes finished fourth overall in the men's 8k, recording a time of 23:51 and improving his 2011 time by 25 seconds. The combined efforts of the men's squad tallied a score of 111 behind No. 3 nationally ranked BYU and No. 23 ranked Oregon, ranking ahead of the Pac-12's Washington.
Jewkes will join the rest of the Thunderbirds in hosting the Color Country Invitational, set to take place Oct. 5 at Cedar Ridge golf course in Cedar City. The first race will begin at 4 p.m.
