CHANDLER, Ariz., April 11 - Southern Utah finished
the 24-team Wyoming Cowgirl Classic right where it began the day Wednesday, in 10th
place, after the Thunderbirds shot 308 to finish at 915 and tied with Nevada at
51 over par.
Freshman Monica Jung led the Thunderbirds with a 15th-place
finish, which is where she began the day as well. Jung shot 75 on Wednesday to
finish at 8-over par 224, while teammate Brittany Edwards shot 76 on Wednesday
to finish at 226 and in 23rd place.
Rounding out SUU's entry Kaohi Loo finished 39th
after a third-round 76 put her at 229, Jamie Coking Millard was 71st
at 236 after a final round 81 and Kacy Buckner shot 82 to finish at 250 and in
112th place.
Iowa claimed the team championship at 884, six strokes
better than second place Colorado State.
CSU's Brianna Espinoza led wire-to-wire and claimed the
championship by five strokes, finishing at 8-under par 208 after a final-round
72, with Iowa's Kristi Cardwell second at 213.
