ST. GEORGE, UTAH -- The SUU Women's golf team had its lone home tournament, the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbirds Invitational at the Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George, Utah.
Head Coach Caylyn McKinlay said
"It was fun to have all the teams come and compete. Congratulations to Weber State for winning the tournament and playing some good gold. Ellie played well for us. She had a quality second and third round, but we just have to be better as a team. We need to make better decision to avoid some of the bigger numbers."

The Thunderbirds
Ellie Olsen led the Thunderbirds, finishing tied for 44th at +24. Olsen showed consistency over the final two rounds with back-to-back scores of 78 to pace the SUU lineup on their home course.
Kirsten Hall and Kiana Roddy each finished tied for 48th with totals of +36. Hall posted rounds of 79 and 79 over the first two days, while Roddy closed strong with a final-round 78. Reece Bandemer followed for the Thunderbirds with a +33, highlighted by an opening-round 80.
Siriporn (Orchid) Luangnam also competed for Southern Utah, shooting 84 in rounds one and two, but unfortunately had to withdraw in round three. Taylyn Wilson played as an individual and carded a three-round total of 258.
The event brought several regional programs to Sunbrook Golf Club for three days of competition in St. George. Hosting the tournament gave the Thunderbirds valuable experience competing on their home course as they continue through the spring schedule.
