Thunderbirds Finish Tenth at Red Rocks Invitational

SEDONA, ARIZONA -- The SUU Women's Golf team wrapped up competing in the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Arizona, at the Oak Creek Country Club, hosted by Northern Arizona.

Head Coach Caylyn McKinlay said

"We did a lot better competing as a team. We played for each other and improved on each round which is really important throughout a tournament. We are gearing up and trying to play our best golf for the conference tournament."

The Thunderbirds

Kirsten Hall led the Thunderbirds with a T30 finish. Shooting rounds of 79, 74, and 75 to finish at nine-over-par for the tournament.

Ellie Olsen followed closely behind at T45 with a +18 finish. A quality 76 in the final round after improving on each round of the tournament.

Reece Bandemer and Kiana Roddy were close together, finishing at +23 and +24 for the tournament in T50 and T52. Roddy led the team with an opening round 78 and fired a quality 75 in the final round.

Siriporn (Orchid) Luangnam rounded out the lineup at +29 in solo 60th. 

Taylyn Wilson competed as an individual and finished 66th.


Up Next

The T-Birds will be back in Arizona on April 7-8, competing at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at the AK-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course in Maricopa, Arizona. The tournament is hosted by the University of Wyoming.
