SUU Student Athletes Earn Big Sky SAAC Conference Cup

CEDAR CITY, Utah - Southern Utah University's student-athlete advisory committee has been awarded the 2013-14 SAAC Conference Cup as announced by the Big Sky Conference on Friday. SUU earned the award after a year-long competition that included three separate contests.

Thunderbird student-athletes gave back with almost 4,500 service hours and raised 2,275 school supplies, finishing second in the Big Sky in each category. SUU also raised more than $500 in a quarters campaign, finishing fifth amongst conference schools.

In total, SAAC members in the Big Sky provided more than 25,000 hours of community service, raised more than $5,000 in the quarters drive and collected more than 12,000 school supplies during the year.

Southern Utah shared the award with Weber State as the Wildcats led school supply donations with a league-best 5,771 items.
