Box Score CEDAR CITY, Utah - The SUU soccer team (2-10-2) hosted the Montana Grizzlies (7-5-4) Sunday for their final home game of the 2016 season in a game that ended in a 2-0 loss for the Thunderbirds.
The Grizzlies struck first when sophomore McKenzie Warren scored her third goal of the season in the sixth minute. From that moment on it would be all Grizzlies as they outshot the Thunderbirds 6-2 in the first half including another goal from Warren that would give the Grizzlies a 2-0 lead in the 25th minute.
The two teams played a very defensive second half as only five total shots were taken, three for Montana and two for Southern Utah. None of those shots would be able to find their way into the back of the net and the score would remain 2-0 in favor of the Grizzlies after 90 minutes of play.
The Thunderbirds will continue Big Sky play next weekend when they travel to the state of Idaho to take on the Idaho State Bengals and the Vandals of the University of Idaho.
