CEDAR CITY, Utah - A former Utah Valley University product is transferring to SUU to join Chris Boettcher's squad, as Ashley Baugh is ready to lace it up for the Thunderbirds.

The American Fork High School grad is set to join the T-Birds for the upcoming seasons. Baugh recently returned from an LDS mission in Austria and Germany.

Baugh played her high school ball at American Fork, and helped them reach the Utah 5A State semifinals her junior season. As a junior she was selected first team all-state by the Salt Lake Tribune.

As a freshman at UVU, Baugh played in 28 games and a total of 156 minutes. She scored a season high of eight points against Walla Walla.

“I am really excited about Ashley's length and ability to defend and rebound,” Boettcher said. “With such a young team it is also nice to have someone with experience join the program.”

Baugh said she has just enjoyed playing basketball again and getting back into a rhythm.
