Men’s DMR Breaks School Record in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - For the second time this season the Thunderbird men's Distance Medley Relay team broke the school record, and this time they made Big Sky Conference history as well.

The team comprised of Kasey Knevelbaard, Brandan Harley, George Espino and Josh Collins ran a 9:45.08, which surpassed the previous mark set at the UW Invitational of 9:48.48.  

The time of 9:45.08 is also the fifth fastest time in the event in the history of the Big Sky Conference.

The Thunderbirds competed at the Alex Wilson Invitational, which is hosted by Notre Dame.

The T-Birds finished fifth in their section, which featured also featured Indiana, Stanford, Michigan, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and UCLA. Overall, SUU had the 11th fastest time in South Bend.  

Next up for the Thunderbirds will be the 2017 Big Sky Indoor Conference Championships, which will be held in Pocatello, Idaho, from February 23rd to the 25th.
