POCATELLO, Idaho -- Many new records were set this weekend for the Thunderbird men's and women's track & field teams. The T-Birds travelled to Pocatello for Idaho State's Snake River Open Invitational where they found plenty success.
Men's Team
Frank Harris III broke the school record of 6'11 by reaching a 7' ¼" in the high jump. He placed first at the meet with this jump.
On the men's side of the team, Tre James placed first in the 60 meter with a time of 6.73. This time now reigns as the top time in the SUU Record book.
Cannon Brunsvik placed second in the men's shot put with a throw of 52-4.25. This mark also placed him sixth of all time in SUU history.
In the men's weight throw, Jordan Porcaro and Oman Gatoloai were able to place for the Thunderbirds as well. Porcaro thew a 52' 5 ½'' placing him in fourth. Gatoloai threw a 51'3" placing him in fifth. These throws also placed them in seventh and eighth in the SUU Record book.
Women's Team
Jentry Skidmore was successful in the long jump. She placed first overall with a length of 19' 3/4''Â and also landed a 2nd in the SUU Record book.
Sinclair Watson placed first in the 60-meter with a time of 7.73. This also tied Watson for 4th in the all time record book. Julieta Navarrette-Lamas was able to place third in the 800-meter with a time of 2:23.7.
The women were able to place for the Thunderbirds as well. Ogochukwu Nwachukwu won the women's shot put with a throw of 41.8 feet.
