Soccer Prepares for Final Road Games of Regular Season

CEDAR CITY, Utah - With four more games left to go in the 2018 season and a spot in the Big Sky Championship Tournament on the line, the Southern Utah women's soccer team will hit the road this weekend for the final time during the regular season.

Last Time Out

The Thunderbirds were able to pick up their first Big Sky win last week with a 3-2 victory over Sacramento State. MaKenzie Lawrence scored two goals in the match including the game-winner in the 82nd minute. Devri Hartle added a goal on a penalty kick in the 26th minute.

Hartle also added two goals on Sunday against Portland State, bringing her weekend total to three.

With their combined five goals this weekend, Lawrence and Hartle are now tied for the team lead and second place in the Big Sky in goals scored.

Brianna Aldridge made nine saves over the weekend, bringing her season total to 82 saves. The redshirt freshman leads the Big Sky and is ranked ninth in the country in saves made. Aldridge also leads the Big Sky and is ranked 18th in the country in saves per game, with a 6.31 average.

Scouting Report: Montana Grizzlies (2-7-4, 1-2-2 BSC)

The Grizzlies picked up their first Big Sky win last weekend with a 1-0 win over Idaho State. They have also earned two draws in Big Sky play to bring their point total to five and put them in seventh place in the conference.

Kennedy Yost and Alexa Coyle combined have 4 goals under their belt making them the players to watch out for. With a total of 58 saves, Claire Howard has racked up 1264 minutes of playing time this season and has a total of 5 shutouts throughout the year.

Scouting Report: Northern Colorado Bears (8-6, 4-1 BSC)

The Bears also picked up a win over Idaho State last weekend, giving them four wins in conference play and a hold on third place in the standings.

Northern Colorado leads the Big Sky in goals (27), goals per game (1.93), and points (72). Senior Maddie Roberts leads the conference with six goals and two other Bears have five goals on the season.

Kickoff for the Thunderbirds' match against Montana will be at 3:00 p.m. and can be streamed live at Pluto TV channel 237. Sunday's match against the Bears is set to start at 1:00 p.m. and can be streamed at Pluto TV channel 241. Live stats will be available for both games at suutbirds.com.
