CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah women's soccer team will host Sacramento State and Portland State this weekend, looking for their first Big Sky win of the season.
Last Time Out
The Thunderbirds played just one game last weekend as they hosted Northern Arizona on Sunday. The Lumberjacks scored in both halves and were able to come away with a 2-0 win.
The Thunderbirds ripped off eight shots in the match, but were not able to break through for a goal. Brianna Aldridge added to her Big Sky leading saves total, making nine saves in the match and bringing her season total to 73.
Scouting Report: Sacramento State Hornets (3-8-2, 2-2 BSC)
The Hornets will come into Cedar City with two Big Sky wins under their belt. They were able to pick up shutout wins over Eastern Washington and Idaho State, but were shutout themselves by Idaho and Weber State.
Skylar Littlefield is the leading scorer for the Hornets with three goals on the season. Littlefield scored the game winning goal in the Hornets' 1-0 win over EWU. Eight other Hornets have scored goals this season.
Kaylyn Evans has started nine games in goal for the Hornets, posting two shutouts and giving up just 16 goals in that time.
Scouting Report: Portland State Vikings (3-8, 1-3 BSC)
The Vikings come into the weekend with just one win in Big Sky play, a 3-1 win over Idaho State last Sunday. They dropped their first three conference matches to Idaho, Eastern Washington, and Weber State.
Krystal De Ramos is the leading scorer for the Vikings, picking up three goals in just nine games played. 13 different Hornets have picked up points from either goals or assists on the season.
Abbie Faingold has started every game in goal for the Vikings this season, picking up one shutout, a 2-0 win over Texas Southern. Faingold currently holds a .697 save percentage and a 2.07 goals against average.
