BANDON, Ore. -- The first day of the 2018 Bandon Dunes Championship is in the books, and T-Bird sophomore Jake Vincent finds himself amongst the top-10 through 18 holes of play.
Vincent shot a three-under 68 on Sunday to end the day tied for sixth on the leaderboard.
Second for the Thunderbirds is senior Fidel Concepcion, who shot an even 71 on the first day and sits in a tie for 21st heading into the second of three rounds.
Freshman Austin Jaramillo is third for the Thunderbirds and tied for 62nd overall after shooting a 76 on Sunday.
Both Ali Hameed and Sam Butler shot a 77 for the Thunderbirds, and both ended the day in a tie for 69th.
In a stacked field, the Thunderbirds will head into Monday in 10th place as a team after an eight-over 292.
Arizona State is the team leader after the first day, shooting a 273. Utah's Kyler Dunkle and ASU's Chun An Yu are the top two players after 18 holes, both shooting a six-under 65 on the opening day.
Play will continue with 18 holes on both Monday and Tuesday.
