Box Score GREELEY, Colo. - The Southern Utah softball team wrapped up it's second Big Sky series of the 2018 season with a 14-10 loss to the Northern Colorado Bears.
Game three was a slugfest with the two teams combining for 22 hits including eight home runs and 16 extra-base hits. Their combined 24 runs was just one run short of a season high in the Big Sky.
The Thunderbirds hit five of the eight home runs. Taylei Williams and Kalei Watkins hit two home runs each and Sarah Murphy added one of her own in the third inning. The three of them also accounted for seven of the 10 Thunderbird runs in the game. Watkins and Taylei Williams both finished the day 3-4 with three RBIs.
Kaitlin Williams drew three walks in the designated player position. The senior finished her day at the plate 1-1 with a double in the fourth inning.
Javlyn Weaver, Kendall Kapitzke, and Hannah Williams all had RBIs in the contest.
The Thunderbirds are now 2-4 in Big Sky play and will host North Dakota next weekend, starting on April 6, for their third conference series of the year.
