Box Score SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah softball team played a single game in Salt Lake City against the Utah Utes Tuesday night and fell 0-9.
The Utes came out swinging, scoring four runs in the first inning highlighted by a three-run shot from Heather Bowen. Bowen had two home runs in the game, hitting a solo shot in the third inning.
The Thunderbirds picked up just one hit in the game. It came in the third inning when Nicole Simonson hit a bunt single with two outs. The redshirt sophomore also drew a walk in the game, finishing 1-for-1.
The Thunderbirds will return home to host the Montana Grizzlies this weekend, starting with a doubleheader on Friday April 13.
