CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah softball team will hit the road for their final regular season road series this weekend starting on April 27 against Idaho State.
Last Time Out
Last week Southern Utah were in Sacramento, California for a series with the Sacramento State Hornets. The Thunderbirds lost all three games to the Hornets, dropping each game by a margin of just one run.
The Thunderbirds allowed just eight runs total in the series, but were only able to score five runs themselves.
With just two weeks left in the regular season, the Thunderbirds will be fighting to stay in playoff contention this weekend in Pocatello.
Scouting Report: Idaho State Bengals (10-30, 5-10 BSC)
Idaho State come into the week with a 10-30 overall record and a 5-10 record in Big Sky play. The Bengals are coming off of a weekend series in which they were swept by Weber State in Ogden. They have won series' over Sacramento State and Northern Colorado during Big Sky play.
Makenzie VanSickle leads the Bengals offensively, batting .324 on the season in 30 games played. Emma Bordenkecher leads the team in RBIs with 20 on the season. Ashlyn Ames is the go to in the circle with a 3.37 ERA in 21 appearances.
They will play a single game against Boise State on Wednesday before hosting the Thunderbirds.

Friday's doubleheader in Pocatello is set to start at 2:00 p.m. Mountain time. Saturday's finale will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Miller Ranch Stadium.
