We are looking for advanced level technique, ability, and stage presence. Dancer must be prepared to perform combination incorporating contemporary/jazz/hip-hop styles demonstrating consistency, control and entertainment value. Team members must also be familiar with cheerleading arm motions and be able to work with pom poms. Please come in fitted clothing and performance ready {full hair and make-up}. We are looking for an overall clean, mature collegiate look.

Required skills include:

advanced flexibility

Jumps and Leaps: toe touch, side leap, switch tilt/switch arabesque, tilt jump

Turns: triple pirouette, changing spot a la seconde turns, 

Specialty Skills: kip up, front headspring, aerial

Time Commitment:

Work Week: TBA

Practice time: 6-10 Hours per week

Performances: All home football, volleyball, men's and women's basketball games.

The Dance Team is competing this year, more info to come.

Member Requirements:

Must be full-time SUU student {12 semester hours}

Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA.

All members must be willing to be positive role models, participate in school & community service, and be involved in a regular fitness program.

The Southern Utah University Dance Team is the officially recognized Dance Team for the university. The team performs and supports the SUU Athletic Department throughout the season. They with the cheer and stunt team make up the Spirit Team.  The dance team cheers on the sidelines at the required athletic events. SUU covers costs associated with participating such as, warm-ups, shoes, uniforms and practice gear. Dance team members will be responsible for the cost of camp and competition expenses.  The dance team will be made up of 12-15 members.
