NEW ORLEANS -- After competition at the Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational, the Southern Utah men's cross country team has been ranked No.19 according to USTFCCCA polls.
Last week the team was just receiving votes in the poll.
The team has been ranked ahead of Notre Dame, Florida State and Utah State. They knocked off the No. 20 ranked Fighting Irish and No. 22 ranked Aggies in Wisconsin over the weekend, along with No. 25 Princeton.
At the Nuttycombe Invitational, the Thunderbirds placed 13th overall in a stacked field. Christian Ricketts lead the team with a time of 24:03.9 in the 8K finishing 27th overall. Ricketts was followed by Joshua Collins with a time of 24:14.2.
Sean Newcomb and Nate Osterstock were also among the top Thunderbird finishers.
The Thunderbird men have also risen above Utah State and Air Force in the Mountain Region, and currently sits fourth.
The team will compete at the Big Sky Conference Championships on November 2.
