CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah softball team and head coach Don Don Williams have announced their schedule for the upcoming 2020 season.

The Thunderbirds will open the season with their regular appearance in the the Marucci Desert Classic hosted by UNLV on opening weekend. They will play five games against three teams, playing Oregon State and CSU Northridge on both February 7 and 8 and finishing the tournament on February 9 against UNLV.

The following weekend SUU will compete at the 30th Annual Campbell/Cartier Classic hosted by San Diego State. They will play BYU and the Aztecs on February 14 followed by another match up with the Aztecs and CSU Northridge on February 15.

After an off-weekend, the Thunderbirds will travel to Tempe, Arizona to compete in the Sun Devil Classic hosted by Arizona State. They will play two games against Maryland, two against the host Sun Devils, and one against Wisconsin. They will wrap up tournament play by competing in the Highlander Classic hosted by UC Riverside in California, with games against CSU Bakersfield, California Baptist, and the host Highlanders.

Big Sky play will start for the Thunderbirds on March 20 with a three-game series against Northern Colorado in Greeley. They will host their first home games at Kathryn Berg Field on March 27 with a doubleheader against Sacramento State followed by the series finale on March 28.

The Thunderbirds will then travel to Missoula for a three-game series with the Grizzlies on April 4 and 5 before returning home to host reigning Big Sky champs Weber State on April 10 and 11. They will then take a brief break from conference play and play a two-game series against Utah Valley in Orem on April 14 and a single game against BYU in Provo on April 15.

They will wrap up their regular season with a three-game series against Idaho State in Pocatello on April 25 and 26 and their final home series on May 1 and 2 against Portland State.

The Big Sky Conference Softball Championship Tournament will take place in Ogden from May 6-9.
