CEDAR CITY, Utah -- The Thunderbird women's golf team and head coach Richard Church have announced the signing of Cornelia Karlsson to a National Letter of Intent. 

Karlsson will join the women's golf team from Osla, Norway, where she plays for Oslo Golfklubb.

"We're excited that Cornelia has decided to play her college golf with us here at Southern Utah," Church said. "She's a skilled player that I think will have a big impact on our team right away." 

Karlsson has had a pretty solid 2019, which included a Team Gold at the National Jr. Championships with her Oslo Golfklubb teammates. She also collected third place finishes at the Garmin National Cup and the Junior Master Invitational.     

She also has international golf experience, representing her age group in two Scandinavian Team Cup tournaments. 

In 2018 she finished in a tie for 18th at the Doral PUblix Jr. Golf Classic and in 36th at the Scottish Girls' Open Championship.
