CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah women's basketball team will be on the road this week as they take on Eastern Washington on Thursday February 21 and the University of Idaho on Saturday February 23.
Last Time Out
Last week the Lady T-Birds continued their recent five-game skid with an overtime loss to Sacramento State and a loss to Portland State.
Harley Hansen had her first career double-double against the Hornets with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Ashley Larsen led the Thunderbirds with 18 points. Against the Vikings, Breanu Reid and Jessica Chatman both finished in double-digits with Reid scoring 11 points and Chatman scoring 10.
Scouting Report: Eastern Washington Eagles (7-16, 6-8 BSC)
Since losing to the Thunderbirds in Cedar City on January 31, the Eagles have won three of their last five games including a 76-72 win over Northern Colorado last week.
Senior Violet Kapri Morrow is third in the Big Sky and leads the Eagles in scoring, averaging 19.4 points per game. She is also 16th in the Big Sky in rebounding, averaging 6.3 per game.
Scouting Report: Idaho Vandals (14-9, 11-3 BSC)
When the Vandals came to Cedar City on February 2 they were in the midst of what would turn out to be a six-game winning streak that included their 82-70 win over the T-Birds. Their only loss since January 19 came at the hands of Northern Colorado last week.
The Vandals have two top-five scorers in the Big Sky in Mikayla Ferenz and Taylor Pierce. Ferenz leads the conference and is eighth in the entire country, averaging 22.5 points per game and Pierce is fifth in the conference at 18.3 ppg.
