CEDAR CITY, Utah -- The Thunderbird women's golf team has a busy week in front of them, as they'll play in the 2019 BYU at Entrada Classic on Monday and Tuesday, and then will host the 2019 Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational on March 14 and 15 at Sunbrook Golf Club.
Last Time Out
The Thunderbirds opened up their Spring Season with a bang, with Chanikan (Pluem) Yongyuan finishing in a tie for second, Kamonwan (Poy) Prasurtwong finishing in a tie for fifth, and the team finishing third in the field.
Yongyuan shot a 212 (74, 71, 67) and Prasurtwong shot a 216 (71, 72, 73). Kyla Smith also had a strong performance, shooting a 226 (80, 74, 72).
SUU finished behind only Toledo and Lamar at the event.
Golfer of the Week X3
Following the GCU Invitational, Yongyuan was named Big Sky Women's Golfer of the Week for the third time in just her freshman season.
To date, Yongyuan has not finished lower than fourth in her collegiate career.
Tournament Preview - 2019 BYU At Entrada Classic
The 2019 edition of the BYU at Entrada Classic will be a two-day, three-round event played at Entrada Golf Club in St. George.

The Thunderbirds finished in 12th last season at Entrada, led by Prasurtwong and Smith who both shot a 232. That put them both in a tie for 49th in the field.
Prasurtwong (76, 73, 83), Smith (78, 75, 79), Nicole Jones and Miranda Reyes were the top four players in the field for the Thunderbirds.
Tournament Preview - 2019 Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational
The 2019 edition of the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational will be played on the Pointe and Blackrock courses at Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George, Utah and the T-Birds will serve as host.
The event will be a two-day, two-round affair and will play par-72. The two nine-hole courses measure out to 5,914 yards in total.
Competing Teams: California Baptist, Cal State Bakersfield, Eastern Washington, Idaho State, Fairleigh Dickinson, Lehigh, Montana, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Oral Roberts, South Dakota State, Southern Utah, Weber State and Xavier

In 2018 at their home tournament, the T-Birds finished in third place shooting 607 (813, 294) as a team.
Prasurtwong was the top player for SUU, shooting a 145 (75, 70) and finishing in a tie for second. Lindsay Aleman was second for SUU, carding a 153 (80, 73) and Kyle Smith was third with a 154 (79, 75).

"Over the last couple years this has been an important week for us to know what kind of team we have," SUU head coach Richard Church said. "It's a lot of competitive golf in a short amount of time, but it's always a positive for us to play two events so close to home."
