LARAMIE, Wyo. - The Southern Utah soccer team lost to the Wyoming Cowgirls Friday evening 2-0 on the road.
"I thought we had some really good moments today, not the least of which was the penalty kick save. Bri was solid overall and had a very strong game. The second half was particularly difficult dealing with the sun, but she handled it well and pulled off a couple of big saves," head coach Fred Thompson said. "I think we could have gotten more out of this game, but again we are building towards conference play, making adjustments, and learning. We continue to improve and that's the main focus."
The Cowgirls scored their first goal in the 15th minute of the contest with their second coming late in the 86th minute.
Southern Utah goalkeeper Brianna Aldridge made 10 saves including one on a Wyoming penalty kick.
The Thunderbirds will return home for matches with CSU Bakersfield and Boise State next weekend.
