FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Competition came to a close at the 2019 Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic on Tuesday afternoon, with the Lady T-Birds finishing play in 10th place as a team.
Chanikan (Pluem) Yongyuan led the charge for the Thunderbirds, finishing competition in a tie for fourth on the leaderboard by shooting a 220 (72, 76, 72).
This marks Yongyuan's 10th top-10 finish as a Thunderbird in just her second season with the program.
"Pluem has already solidified herself as one of the best golfers this program has ever seen, and to accomplish what she has and still be so young is really special," SUU head coach Richard Church said. "To be in the top-10 at that many tournaments is hard to do."
Kamonwan (Poy) Prasurtwong finished second for the T-Birds and tied for 22nd on the leaderboard with a three-round 227 (77, 74, 76). Launa Wilson finished the tournament third for SUU and tied for 37th on the leaderboard with a 233 (76, 81, 76).
Lexi Hamel finished play with a 239 (76, 83, 80) to finish fourth for the Thunderbirds, while Kyla Smith finished fifth for the team with a 255 (87, 79, 89).
Hayden Harris played as an individual for the T-Birds, shooting a 267 (92, 87, 88).
The T-Birds finished the event with a 915 (301, 310, 304) as a team to finish in 10th place.
The Lady T-Birds will be back on the course this weekend as they'll compete in the 2019 Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, California.
