FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- After taking the opening set against Northern Arizona on Sunday, the Thunderbird volleyball team fell to the Lumberjacks 3-1 at Rolle Activity Center.
With the result, the Thunderbirds are now 4-6 on the season and 4-5 in Big Sky Conference matches.
The Thunderbirds claimed the first set 25-22, but from there on the Lumberjacks took control. NAU won the second set 25-21, the third 25-22 and the fourth and final 25-21 to secure the victory.
Despite the three-straight set losses, the Thunderbirds showed a lot of fight in every one down the stretch.
Andreanna McKee led SUU in kills with 12 total. Stacey Hone finished with nine, while Raegen Ashby had seven.
Ashby had six blocks, and Bridget Triplett finished with four.
Corrin Peterson finished with 29 assists.
SUU and NAU will wrap up their two-match series on Monday at 6 p.m. MT, giving the T-Birds a chance at revenge against their Grand Canyon rival.
