CARLSBAD, Calif. - The Southern Utah men's golf team took second place at the UC San Diego Invitational, wrapping up Tuesday with a field-low 297 in round three. They finished with a three-round total of 897 (306, 294, 297), just four strokes behind Utah State who won the tournament with a 893.
Jake Vincent finished tied for third after shooting a 75 on Tuesday to bring his three-day total to 220 (74, 71, 75). This is his third top-ten finish through four tournaments this season.
Atthasit (Anfield) Srichun also shot a 75 on Tuesday to bring his three-round total to 223 (74, 74, 75) and an eighth place finish. This is the first top-ten finish for Srichun in his career.
Tyler Jones shot a 77 on day three to finish tied for 15th with a 226 (76, 73, 77) and Ali Hameed shot a 72 to finish tied for 24th with a 230 (82, 76, 72).
Jaxon Long shot a 75 to finish in 35th place with a 238 (86, 77, 75).
Ryker Smith, playing as an individual shot a 78 in round three to finish in 38th place with a 241 (84, 79, 78).
The Thunderbirds will be at Boulder Creek Golf Club this weekend for a head-to-head matchup with Weber State starting on March 27.
