CEDAR CITY, UTAH -- The SUU Men's Golf team has officially signed two freshman who will join the team for the 2026-27 season. Michael Stirland, a Southern Utah local, and David "Charles" Serdenia, an excellent golfer from the Phillipines.
Head Coach Richard Church said
"We are super excited about both of these players. Michael is a local kid that knows his way around the golf course and Charles is a really phenomenal golfer that has multiple worldwide wins and has posted an impressive WAGR ranking throughout his amateur career."
Michael Stirland
Hometown: Hurricane, Utah
High School: Hurricane High School
Height: 6'1
Accomplishments: Since returning from his mission, Michael has played in many amateur events around the state of Utah, with his best finish coming at the St. George Amateur where he finished third.
David "Charles" Serdenia
Hometown: Taguig City, Phillipines
High School: Senior High School in Barangay Fort Bonifacio
Height: 5'11
Accomplishments: Serdenia is a very accomplished amateur golfer. He has racked up 14 top-10's in official WAGR events and has three wins. He climbed as high as 666th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, and is currently 1,582.
