SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Southern Utah men's golf team competed at the UC Santa Barbara Invitational on Monday and Tuesday and shot a three-round 889 (300, 296, 293) to finish in a tie for eighth place.
Jake Vincent shot a 216 (73, 70, 73) to finish even par and in 12th place at the event.
Ali Hameed was the second-highest finisher for the T-Birds as he shot a 224 (77, 76, 71) to finish in a tie for 34th place. Tyler Jones was right behind him, shooting a 225 (76, 77, 72) to finish in a tie for 39th place.
Ryker Smith shot a 227 (75, 75, 77) to finish in a tie for 44th place and Atthasit (Anfield) Srichun shot a 235 (76, 75, 84) to finish in a tie for 53rd place.
Jaxon Long, playing as an individual, shot a 229 (75, 79, 75) to finish in a tie for 48th place.
Boise State won both the team title and the individual title as they finished with an 853 (277, 288, 288) as a team and Max Charles shot a 206 (69, 70, 67) to finish in first place.
This was the final regular season event for the Thunderbirds and they will begin to prepare for the Big Sky Conference Men's Golf Championship that starts on April 25 in Boulder City, Nevada.
