FRESNO, Calif. - Chanikan (Pluem) Yongyuan closed out the regular season with a top-20 finish to lead Southern Utah women's golf at the Fresno State Classic.
Yongyuan finished in a 19th-place tie after two days with a 220 (70, 72, 78). She collected eight birdies overall during the event. Southern Utah claimed 14th as a team with a 935 (310, 304, 321).
Stanford topped the field with an 846 (282, 286, 278), while also claiming the individual title with Rachel Heck carding a 16-under 200 (69, 68, 63).Â
Tori Thomas closed the day in 65th with a 237 (79, 76, 82), while Lexi Hamel tied for 70th with a 241 (82, 81, 78).
Launa Wilson tied for 77th with a 244 (79, 81, 84), while Tanyatorn (Excel) Thalangkarn tied for 79th with a 245 (87, 75, 83).Â
The Thunderbirds head into the postseason next week as they travel to Molalla, Ore., on April 19-21 for the Big Sky Conference Championships held at Arrowhead Golf Club.Â
