FARMINGTON, Utah - The Big Sky Conference office has announced the 2021 Big Sky Volleyball schedule that for the Southern Utah volleyball team will begin on September 23 against Eastern Washington.
The 2021 season schedule will feature a 16-game format played over eight weeks. Teams will play most of their games on Thursdays and Saturdays, with one game played on Tuesday each week.
The Thunderbirds will open Big Sky play at home against the Eagles on Thursday September 23 followed by matchups with Idaho on Saturday the 25th and Northern Arizona on Tuesday the 28th.
They will then play their first road conference game on September 30 against Northern Colorado before taking a week off. The T-Birds will then head back out on the road for matchups with Portland State and Sacramento State on October 7 and October 9 respectively.
Southern Utah will return to Cedar City for four straight home matches starting with Weber State on October 14. They will follow that with matchups against Idaho State on October 16, Montana on October 21, and Montana State on October 23.
The Thunderbirds will then play three straight road games against Idaho (October 28), Eastern Washington (October 30), and Northern Arizona (November 4) before playing their final home game on November 6 against Portland State.
They will wrap up the regular season against Idaho State (November 11) and Weber State (November 13).

The Big Sky Volleyball Championship will also see a change this season and move off Thanksgiving weekend. The tournament will take place on November 18-20, with the host being the 2021 regular-season champion. In addition, the tournament champion will receive the league's auto-bid to the NCAA Tournament.
