SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The Southern Utah University men's golf team wrapped up their season at the Big Sky Conference Tournament today, taking home sixth place as a team. Atthasit (Anfield) Srichun represented the Thunderbirds' top overall individual performer by finishing in a tie for fourth place on the final leaderboard.
Srichun shot a one-under-par 70 in round three of the competition to climb five spots in the rankings on the final day of play. Srichun's impressive showing over the three-day tournament earned him a spot on the All-Tournament team.
Rashon Williams and Tyler Jones finished one shot apart in 13th and 17th, respectively. Williams carded a +9 score throughout the tournament, with his best day coming on day two where he put together a two-over-par performance. Jones climbed five spots on Wednesday after shooting even-par to keep his overall score at +10.Â
Leo Torres finished the tournament at 19-over-par after shooting identical 76's on the last two days of the event. Jaden Milne rounded out the Thunderbird lineup by shooting 21-over-par.
As a team, SUU finished in sixth place with a 40-over-par overall score. The Thunderbirds cut six strokes off of their Day two score by shooting a combined +9 on the final day of action.Â
Weber State took home the Big Sky team title with a 24-over-par mark. The Wildcats also took first place in the individual standings through Reese Fisher, who recorded the only sub-par score of the event (-4).
