CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Thunderbird women's golf team is set to compete in the Bobcat Desert Classic tournament in Goodyear, Arizona. The two-day, three-round event kicks off Monday April 11 and concludes play on Tuesday April 12.
THE COURSE
The Bobcat Desert Classic will take place at the Golf Club of Estrella. Monday's action will start with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. with 36 holes to play during the day. The par-72 action will continue on Tuesday with another 7:30 a.m. shotgun start for the final 18 holes of the Classic. The course will total 6,136 yards through each round.
THE FIELD
SUU will send five golfers to Goodyear including reigning Big Sky Women's Golfer of the Week, Chanikan (pluem) Yongyuan, to compete with seven Big Sky schools. Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Weber State, Montana, Eastern Washington, Idaho State, and host Montana State will compete with SUU against Santa Clara, Utah Valley, and Dixie State.

LAST TIME OUT
Yongyuan led the Thunderbirds last week at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic where she shot one-over-par 217 to finish fourth in the individual rankings.
Tanyatorn (Excel) Thalangkarn carded an 81 on the final day of competition to finish in 56th place with a 14-over-par 230. Anais Guibal shot five behind Thalangkarn to take 79th overall.
Tori Thomas cut five strokes off her second round score to shoot 75 in the final round to secure 85th place. Ellie Hair rounded out SUU's golfers with a 112th overall finish.
