CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Come get a first look at the 2023-24 SUU Men's and Women's basketball teams at the annual Basketball Bash on Wednesday, October 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the America First Event Center. There will be plenty of handouts and giveaways throughout the night, you won't want to miss.
The night will start out with both teams warming up and showing off their trick shots and best dunks, so be sure to be there right at 6:30.
The first event will be the 3-point contest. Two women's basketball players will compete against each other followed by two men's basketball players competing against each other and the two winners will then face-off for the 3-point championship crown.
The next event will include three SUU students who will participate in a game of knockout against three women's basketball players and three men's basketball players the winner will be rewarded with some SUU swag.
The next game will be a spot shooting competition where we will have four teams of two competing. Two of the teams will include a men's and women's basketball player, and the other two teams will consist of a male and female SUU student. The two teams containing basketball players will compete against each other and the two SUU fan teams will compete against each other until there are two teams standing, and they will verse each other for the spot shooting championship.
The final event will get the coaches involved. Head coach Tracy Mason, and head coach Rob Jeter will team up against a pair of their assistants and they will compete in a shooting competition that includes a half-court shot!
To close out the night we will invite all the fans in attendance to come down onto the court and pickup a men's and women's basketball '23-24 schedule poster. The players will be sticking around for 30 minutes to sign the posters.
